📡 THIS WEEK IN CRYPTO
GM, Readers!
Whales are moving. Quietly. Aggressively. And the market still hasn't priced most of it.
Old coins are waking up. Smart money is rotating hard. Miners are dumping. Meanwhile, a fake support call just landed a crypto scammer 12 years behind bars. And the betting markets just flipped questions that could reshape the entire cycle.
The price is calm. The signal is not.
Let’s get into it...

🐳 THE BIG WHALE MOVES
1. Strategy Stacks BTC, Buys Back $193M
Michael Saylor's Strategy acquired another 267 BTC for $22.1 million between October 12 and 18, bringing total holdings to 848,517 BTC. At the same time, the company spent $193 million repurchasing STRC preferred shares and raised its Digital Credit Securities repurchase authorization from $2B to $3B. Saylor flagged the move with his usual "We found room for more orange" post.
Whale Intel: Strategy is still buying, but the much larger preferred buyback shows capital is also being used to manage the credit side of the balance sheet while the MSCI exclusion risk hangs over the stock.

2. Strive's Nearly $100M BTC Buy
Strive added 1,223 BTC ($99.96M, at an average of $81,734) between October 14 and October 16, lifting total holdings to 36,818 BTC. The company stacked 4,045 BTC last week, cementing its place as one of the most aggressive public Bitcoin treasury companies this cycle.
Whale Intel: Strive is closing the gap on the larger holders and is still using equity and preferred capital to keep buying. Watch whether the upcoming SATS preferred settlement accelerates the pace further.
3. MARA Ships 1,000 BTC to Binance and Gate
On October 19, Lookonchain reported roughly 1,000 BTC ($82.8M) leaving MARA-linked wallets and landing on Binance and Gate. The transfer put miner-to-exchange activity in focus.
Whale Intel: When a public miner ships BTC to exchanges in a weak tape, the market reads treasury-funded selling. One day is noise. A second confirms a shift.
4. Whale Dumps BTC, Chases Stocks
A trader closed a big 1,355.6 BTC long ($110.85M) and took a $3.26M loss. Right after, he jumped into $Tesla, $DRAM, and $SOXL positions worth about $46.09M.
Whale Intel: Lost on crypto, immediately went all-in on stocks. A high-risk move, indeed.

📊 ETF FLOW WATCH

BTC ETF daily flows, Oct 12 to Oct 19 | SoSoValue
🟢 A GREEN Day for Spot BTC ETFs!
Uptober flipped the heavy outflow streak with a solid $526.60M net inflow on October 19, the strongest day in weeks.
ETH ETFs remain red, still posting outflows. Total outflow from October 14 to October 19 was -$362.69M.
Whale Intel: One strong green day doesn't fix the month, but it's a clear shift in tone heading into the Fed meeting.

😂 MEME OF THE WEEK

🚩 RUG PULL HALL OF SHAME
Kishu Inu: The $9M Rug Pull Dressed as a Dog Coin

The US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois indicted the creator of Kishu Inu, Alexander Sisemore. This 2021 Shiba Inu-style memecoin briefly ran to a multi-billion-dollar market cap.
Prosecutors allege a classic rug pull: hype the token, drain liquidity, vanish with roughly $9M. Red flags were on display from day one. Anonymous team. No on-chain liquidity lock. Hype from paid Twitter and a billboard. Investors ignored all of it.
Whale Intel: Memecoins from anonymous teams with no on-chain liquidity lock are rug pulls in the making. Years later, the DOJ catches up. Investors do not get refunds.

🔍 CRYPTO CRIMINAL OF THE WEEK
Ronald Spektor: The Fake Coinbase Rep Who Stole $16M

Brooklyn's DA sentenced Ronald Spektor to up to 12 years in prison for stealing nearly $16M in crypto from about 100 victims.
His playbook: pose as a Coinbase support rep, convince the victim to move funds to a wallet he controlled, then drain it.
Spektor used spoofed caller IDs, text messages, and fake branding. The victim handed over credentials believing the call was real. Funds were laundered within hours.
Whale Intel: Coinbase and every real exchange never call customers unprompted asking for credentials.
If "Support" asks you to move funds? Hang up!! 😰
