📡 THIS WEEK IN CRYPTO
GM, Readers!
Bitcoin tagged $81,347 intraday on Aug 28 (per Coinglass), then Fed Chair Warsh spoke at Jackson Hole, and the tape reversed within an hour. BTC settled the week near $77,700, and a nine-day spot BTC ETF inflow streak snapped with a $201.81M outflow.
But money did not leave crypto. ETH ETFs took their best week. BitMine bought another $131M of ETH. And a Trump-branded memecoin rugged nearly 98% in an afternoon.
Let’s get into it...

🐳 THE BIG WHALE MOVES
1. BitMine Almost Owns 5% of Ethereum
On Aug 31, Tom Lee’s BitMine reported another 53,501 ETH bought in the week ending Aug 30, its 65th straight weekly purchase since June 2025. The stack now sits at 5,901,112 ETH, about 4.9% of supply. Total holdings including cash: $15.6B. 5.07M ETH is staked, projected to earn $335M annualized (Source: PR Newswire).
BitMine is 133,900 ETH from its 5% target.
Whale Intel: When one entity owns 5% of an asset and keeps buying every week for over a year, it stops being a trade and starts being infrastructure.

2. Strive Cracks the Corporate BTC Top 5
Vivek Ramaswamy’s Strive (NASDAQ: ASST) picked up 1,800 BTC for roughly $143M this week, taking total holdings to 23,156 BTC and passing Bullish for the No. 5 spot among public corporate holders. Strive keeps issuing ASST common and SATA preferred to fund the buys. Shares jumped 5% on the news, even after a $257.6M Q2 net loss tied to BTC’s drop.

CEO Matt Cole said on X.
Whale Intel: Equity-issued Bitcoin buying is a leveraged bet on both the price and the market’s patience with dilution.

3. Lazarus Group Wallets Wake Up Again
On Aug 28, Lookonchain flagged 244.148 BTC ($19.42M) moving between wallets tied to North Korea’s Lazarus Group, the same pattern as the Aug 12 transfer of 262.2 BTC ($16.64M). Lazarus wallets typically stage funds through fresh addresses before mixers or DEX aggregators. The flag matters less for the dollar size and more for what usually follows.
Whale Intel: State-linked wallets rarely move funds for fun. Watch for a mixer or DEX interaction within two weeks.

4. Whale 0xF626 Starts Distributing 102,913 ETH
On Aug 31, Lookonchain flagged a large ETH holder identified as 0xF626 beginning to distribute. The wallet received 102,913 ETH (about $248.6M) and then transferred 2,858 ETH (about $7M) to exchanges within twenty minutes. The address still holds 100,055 ETH, roughly $241.6M.
Whale Intel: A first small deposit from a big new wallet is usually a fee-check, not the full exit. The real signal is whether the remaining 100K ETH follows within the week.

Farmers Need Better Tools. Greenfield Is Building Them.
For generations, farmers have relied on bigger equipment and chemical inputs to improve productivity.
Greenfield Robotics is building a new category of agricultural equipment: autonomous robots designed to help farmers manage weeds with precision.
But the bigger opportunity may be the platform itself. It raises a bigger question: if robots can autonomously manage weeds, what other farm tasks could they eventually take on?
Greenfield is already expanding the platform beyond weeding, with feeding, spraying, and cover-crop planting on the roadmap.
The vision: a new generation of farm equipment that can perform more work autonomously—potentially reducing dependence on chemical inputs and the rising costs associated with conventional farming.
Investors can own a stake in Greenfield Robotics through its Regulation A+ offering. Currently in Testing the Waters. Join the waitlist.

🚩 RUG PULL HALL OF SHAME
Trump Digital Gold: 98% Gone in an Afternoon

On Aug 29, a Solana token called Trump Digital Gold ($GOLD) launched via a promotional post from the verified X account @realtrumpcoins1, which is followed by @realDonaldTrump. No Trump family member confirmed the claimed Trump Foundation endorsement. Eric Trump had preemptively denied any new coin on Aug 22.

Then Lookonchain flagged the setup: the developer wallet held 600M $GOLD; 15 newly created wallets bought 224.5M for $18,657. Team control: 82.45%. Thirty minutes after the post hit, those 15 wallets sold everything for 3,178 SOL (about $330K), netting $312K profit (Source: Lookonchain). They later deleted the post.

🔍 CRYPTO CRIMINAL OF THE WEEK
Manpreet Kohli: A $7.5B Token and a $20M Personal Payday

Manpreet Kohli, 45, is the former CEO of Saitama, an ETH-based token that peaked at a $7.5B market value. On Aug 19, a UK judge rejected his final extradition challenge and moved the case to British ministers for sign-off.
Per the US Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts, Kohli is one of 18 defendants tied to a wash-trading operation involving market makers ZM Quant and Gotbit. Executives publicly claimed to hold their tokens while selling into inflated volume. Kohli’s take was about $20M. Notable: the FBI created its own token during the probe, a first for a crypto case. Gotbit’s founder already served eight months and forfeited $23M in 2025.
Whale Intel: If a token’s volume charts look too smooth, someone is usually paying for the smoothness.
